DFS-1000 Set Up Guide

Step #1 Part Identification

(A) Water Tank, (B) Infeed Tray, (C) Exit Tray, (D) Second Fold Adjust, (E) "C" or "V" Fold Adjust, (F) Wick Tank

Step #2 First Fold Adjustment

Loosen both thumb screws for fold adjustment.  Move bar with thumb screw pointers to desired fold setting, aligning evenly on both scales.  Tighten thumb screws.

Step #3 Paper Tray Length Adjustment

To adjust for 11" or 14" sheet, release lock on paper tray and slide paper stop to correct position.

Step #4 Paper Tray Width Adjustment

It is important that the corners of all sheets are completely under the corner tabs of the paper tray.  Slide tab located on bottom of paper tray to ensure sheets are held securely, without buckling, under corner tabs.

Step #5 Inserting Paper Tray

Grasp paper tray with two hands while using thumb pressure to depress spring on loaded stack.  Insert paper tray carefully into machine until tray clicks into place.

Step #6 Wick Tank Removal

You may need to remove the wick tank to: (a) gain access to clear a jam, or (b) insert accessory double wick tank when processing 1-part, 2-way constructions.  Turn machine off for three minutes before removing wick tank.  Grasp wick tank and pull tank straight out.  To insert wick tank, push tank straight in and snap tight to create seal.

Step #7 Jam Clearing

Raise top cover.  Pull bar marked "Pull to Open" forward to release buckle chute.  Then raise top buckle chute and remove jammed sheet.  After clearing jam, close and latch upper chute.

Step #8 Exit Roller Removal and Maintenance

To clean after usage and to clear paper jams, open door at the exit tray end of the machine.  Pull up on red handles to "unlock".  Grasp at green bars and pull straight out.  Clean rollers after each use with damp cloth.  To clear jam, use T-wrench to rotate rollers and remove paper from assembly.  Replace roller assembly.  Be sure to lock red handles in "down" position.
