DFS-1000 Fold Adjustment

Adjusting the First Fold

First Fold Adjustment
Lift top cover. Loosen both thumb screws for fold adjustment. Move bar with thumb screw pointers to desired fold setting, aligning evenly on both scales. Tighten thumb screws.
First Fold Fine Tuning
It may be necessary to fine adjust the first fold. Some forms may curl along the edges after running through a laser printer. Use smaller scale marks to fine adjust. See instructions below.

This machine folds paper along two horizontal fold assist perforations to create a "C" fold. The first fold the machine makes is the fold furthest from the three glue spots on the form. This is known as the bottom fold. The bottom fold folds up into the center panel of the form. You must first set the bottom fold before attempting to set the top fold. The ideal bottom fold setting will fall evenly on your form's fold assist perforation.

If the form is folding below the fold assist perforation, move the thumb screw pointers to the left of the bold 11" or 14" "C-Fold" setting. If the form is folding above the fold assist perforation, move the thumb screw pointers to the right of the bold 11" or 14" "C-Fold" setting.

Adjusting the Second Fold

Second Fold Adjustment
Run one sheet through the machine. Move lever up or down to adjust fold. Use smaller scale marks for fine adjustments. See instructions below.
"C" or "V" Fold Selection
Open side cover and rotate paper selection pin to "C" or "V" fold. Be sure pin is locked into desired paper fold setting.

After you have set the bottom fold so that it folds evenly on the perforation, it is time to adjust the top, or second fold. The machine creates this fold in the bottom buckle chute which is not visible to the operator. Adjustments to the top fold are made with the lever located inside the side panel of the machine. This second fold is folded on the assist perforation closest to the three glue spots on your form. The ideal top fold setting will fold evenly on the assist perforation on your form.

If the form is folding below the fold assist perforation, move the lever up using the smaller scale marks for fine adjust. If the form is folding above the fold assist perforation, move the lever down using the smaller scale marks for fine adjust.
